The outpouring of support to the people of our great state who were devastated by Harvey is truly heart warming. There are tons of ways to volunteer and give back to the people affected by Hurricane Harvey. Which is amazing. We thought it’d be a good idea to let you know of some local businesses and events that are helping. By all means, if you can donate money, do so. If you can go where needed to help, do so. But if you’re stuck at home and want to do something to help, why not attend some of the many benefits happening in our community as a way to show support and help out any way you can.

There are a ton of events and businesses that are donating to help Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. In fact there were so many that we just picked a few to highlight here and then we’re giving you a link to a giant list on Facebook below. Heads up… most of them are this Labor Day weekend. We will update the highlighted list as we find out about more of these great events!

TOBE HOOPER MEMORIAL/BENEFIT SCREENINGS: TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE at the Alamo Drafthouse Village, Austin. All ticket proceeds from these screenings will be donated to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Screenings run from Sept.1st-4th. For more info: VISIT THE SITEJOIN THE FB INVITE

DEEP EDDY VODKA DISTILLERY TASTING ROOM: On Saturday, Sept. 2nd, Deep Eddy will be donating every dollar spent in the Tasting Room to the Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross. Deep Eddy Vodka will also be accepting donations for Hurricane Harvey relief every day from 11:00am – 7:00pm starting Thursday, August 31st until Friday, September 8th. After which, donations will continue to be collected for the foreseeable future during Tasting Room hours. Check the post on their Facebook page for a list of donations being asked. TREATY OAK BREWING & DISTILLING PARTY BENEFIT: Treaty Oak Brewing & Distilling will be hosting a four day Labor Day Weekend party to help raise money to support people affected by Hurricane Harvey. Live music and donations accepted in the form of cash and needed items. Treaty Oak will donate a percentage of the proceeds from the entire weekend to the Central Texas Food Bank, SPCA of Texas and the Texas Diaper Bank Hurricane Harvey Relief Funds. Waterloo Sparkling Water will be on sale and all proceeds from water sales will be donated to the Central Texas Food Bank. They will be partnering with Hope Family Thrift Store to collect necessary items. A list of items is given in the Facebook invite. Those that make donations will be entered info a raffle to win a Treaty Oak gift basket. Times and dates (Sept. 1st-4th) are listed on the invite as well. Dripping Springs. HURRICANE HARVEY BENEFIT SMOKEOUT: Hosted by Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Gardens. Grab a Smoke Out Plate and choose from a wide variety of Houston breweries. All proceeds from the sale of the Smoke Out Plate, along with the sale of beers will be donated to the GlobalGiving Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Breweries represented: Saint Arnold Brewing Co.Karbach Brewing Co., Lone Pint BrewerySouthern Star Brewing Co.Brash Brewing Co. and Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co.. They will also be collecting supplies (no food items please). A list is in the Facebook invite. TACOS FOR HOUSTON: HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF: Hosted by Tacos of Texas. Participating taco shops & taquerias join together to offer a portion of sales from tacos all day Saturday. Veracruz All Natural (All locations), Tamale House East (East Austin), Vaquero Taquero (Hyde Park), Taco Joint (All locations), Pueblo Viejo (Brushy Creek location).
