OUR CODE OF CONDUCT

Blood Over Texas (B.O.T.) produces kick ass horror events for fans of the horror genre. We take our love for the horror genre and then create fun and unique events that entertain our fellow horror fiends. We feel this brings our community together to create a sense of camaraderie and also strengthens and supports the local horror scene. We create enjoyable environments for horror fans to celebrate their love and loyalty to the genre that we all hold close to our dark hearts. We know our community is made up of all kinds of people and this Code of Conduct is meant to stress the fact that we only want to see monsters up on the big screen and not at one of our events.

INCLUSIVITY  Our events are fully inclusive and for people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes, but is not limited to members of any sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, social and economic class, educational level, color, immigration status, sex, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability. Everyone.

INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR  We want our events to be enjoyable and safe; therefore, we will not tolerate any form of inappropriate behavior. Inappropriate behavior is defined as Harassment, Aggression, and Intimidation. Harassment (including sexual harassment), aggression and intimidation interfere with other people’s experience and participation at our events and is not accepted and will not be tolerated. These behaviors can take many forms such as slurs, jokes, derogatory statements, leering, stalking, gestures, threats, bullying, offensive comments and violating personal space by impeding or blocking another person’s movement or otherwise. Unwelcome advances are considered inappropriate behavior. If someone tells you “no,” “I’m not interested,” “leave me alone,” or “go away,” this in an indication you are being inappropriate. So stop.

Inappropriate behavior also includes harassing photography and videography at our events. Photographers and videographers that represent B.O.T. will follow our Code Of Conduct. If you are an attendee who wants to take photos at our event, you are also expected to follow this Code so please ask the person you are trying to take a photo of if it’s okay to do so. If they say, “no” then you must respect their wishes or you will be breaking our Code of Conduct and will be asked to leave.

REPORT  Promptly report any inappropriate behavior that makes you feel uncomfortable at one of our events to a B.O.T. representative. In turn, if you witness inappropriate behavior being acted onto someone else at one of our events, find one of our representatives to let us know. Let’s look out for each other and speak up if we see jerks being jerks so we can end any jerkiness from happening at our events.

EVENT VENUES  Obey the rules and regulations of our partnering venues and don’t damage anything. They are graciously letting us take over their space for the event and we don’t want to be bad visitors. If a venue employee instructs you that you are violating their policies or our Code Of Conduct, you must stop the behavior or you will be asked to leave.

WHO THIS APPLIES TO  Our Code of Conduct applies to B.O.T. employees and staff, all attendees at our events and all participants who take part in a Blood Over Texas event. It applies to in person events and posts and comments on our social media sites, email and other digital robot communications.

CONSEQUENCES OF INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR  All B.O.T. events are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. If you feel like you can’t get yourself together enough to follow these basic, human freedoms and respect the boundaries we are all entitled to, stay home. Save your money and time because you are not welcome at a Blood Over Texas event. If you are asked to leave for violating our Code of Conduct you will not be given a refund and will be barred from future B.O.T. events.
